EXCLUSIVE: CIA didn’t always know who it was killing in drone strikes, classified documents show

In more proof that “Central Intelligence Agency” is an oxymoron, official documents show that, indeed 25% of those killed in strikes were identified as “other combatant” based on “circumstantial evidence”.  The document betray’s the Central Infidel Agency’s policy of “kill first; ask questions later”.

It’s time to take more money from the US military and put it in places that will actually do some good in the world.

The Big V: The Memorial that Heals

You probably know this is a photo of “the wall,” the most famous section of the Viet Nam war memorial in DC. It was designed by Maya Lin, a Chinese American architect. The purpose of the design was to create the image (when seen from above) of a giant wound, not a sign of victory, but a sign of hurt, of pain. Many people objected to this “non-triumphant” design, as well as the idea of an Asian designing it  (even though Lin was Chinese and not Viet Namese, and by heritage only, having no prior allegiances to another nation). I can’t think of a more appropriate way to go about it.

Testimony of Farea Al-Muslimi on the US bombing of innocent civilians

Testimony of Farea Al-Muslimi on the US bombing of innocent civilians

Press release: [WASHINGTON, DC] Farea Al-Muslimi, a Yemeni youth activist and writer, testified today at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Human Rights chaired by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) on the moral, legal and constitutional issues surrounding targeted killings and the use of drones.

It is a lie to say “they” hate us for our freedom.  The US is committing war crimes against humanity.  The Pentagon harbors terrorists.  Who’s going to invade us?

Jon Stewart Reveals the Hypocrisy of Fox News’ War on the US Constitution

“You have Miranda rights under the constitution. You don’t need to say them out loud for them to become real. That’s Beetlejuice.”
-Jon Stewart

“I don’t care if she knew about [the bombing]. She should be in prison for wearing a hijab.”
-Ann Coulter

So god help us if the Muslims ever decide to form a well regulated militia.”

“An open letter to American Christians, especially the shepherds of our flocks, regarding pacifism and just war: A plea for peace and understanding” by Jeremy Marshall

From the post:
“My invitation to you, my brothers and sisters who would one day beat your swords into ploughshares (but not just yet) is simply this: at least be more welcoming to peaceful peasants such as I am, who have welcomed God’s kingdom into our lives by laying down our sword and shield (perhaps preemptively) by the riverside to study war no more. We are doing no harm to you. Further, I would challenge you to consider what it is worth making your ploughshares into swords and your gardening tools into spears over.”

If Hitler was a Christian, I’m the Queen of England

Occasionally you’ll bump into someone who is convinced that the Holocaust was a result of Christianity.

Now, I could dismiss this and laugh it off (no pearls before the swine). But then you would never know if it was true, and if you were searching for reasons to abandon your Christian belief then my reaction would seem cowardly. So let us discuss the matter.

Was Adolf Hitler a Christian? And, if so, is Christianity to blame for the Holocaust?

A Farewell to Gun Memes: “Swords–>Plows” Means Something

Stop posting stupid memes.  Especially ones about guns.

I’ve previously established the need for Christians to actually make alive the kind of kingdom that beats swords into ploughshares.  This is what Isaiah prophesied (2:3-4),  and which Micah prophesied (4:3).

Think about what this means: Taking swords and beating them into scythes, taking spears and beating them into pruning hooks.

Why I Have a Baseball Bat By My Bed

Am I unarmed?  Well, I keep a baseball bat by my bed at home.

If someone comes into my house, I will confront them verbally.  If they come at me with threat, I will try to defend my wife and child while also keeping that person alive.  They are created in the image of God, after all.  If they are after my property, I would most certainly rather them live and take it than die and me keep it.  If they are after my wife and child, I will do what I can to stop them.  And if I end up taking their life, I will pray and mourn, because no man’s death is something to celebrate to me, no matter his intentions, especially if that death occurs while he is likely lost from the way of God, for then I have sent him to a most unfortunate judgement.

Swords into Ploughshares: Voluntary Disarmament in the Kingdom

So I think now is the time to talk about guns.  Now that all the fuss has died down.

I get it: Letting a flooded market of guns just saturate our culture so that people will be too afraid to shoot each other instead of anxious to shoot each other  is naive.

I get it: Trying to ban all guns will just take guns away from law-abiding citizens and keep them in the hands of law-breakers and a sporadically tyrannical government, which makes it also naive.
