The Integrity of Objects

The integrity of objects
As in Golden Gate Bridge
As in a bicycle well being
Whole while ridden upon

So to move as intended
as in complete, moving
or still to withstand as
intended, undiminished,

A bowl on a table, a ball
in the air, all things with
atoms shaking, all things
as only one thing at all.

I inspect, if I am a whole
being out of integrity with
myself, a part diminished,
if the answer I withstand.

10 Things The Plot Against Jesus Tells Us About Conspiracies

As far as conspiracies go, the plot to kill Jesus is as deep as they go, wrought with implications of intrigue, blame, and consequence. The death of Christ is a testimony, not only to himself, but also to human nature. Human beings conspire to do very evil things in this world. But the problem with conspiracies, however, is that sometimes theories about them are wrong. Das Vidanya, Ethical Leadership

Last week, Fox News analyst Ralph Peters said goodbye to his news network. In a scalding hot letter of intent, Col. Peters, after a decade of working with Fox, came out as ashamed of the network for having “degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration.Continue reading

A Comprehensive Plan for Reducing Gun-Violence in America

Here’s what I think everyone can do to reduce gun violence nation-wide. Help me tweak this. Let’s crowdsource it. If the feedback is supportive enough, we just might send this suggestion on to politicians, pundits, preachers, parents, and peew-peew peddlers.

We can call it The Ballistic Pruning Accord

[Note: All listed measures are assumed to be taken voluntarily, except those taken by government authorities. In addition, this list does not include measures already taken in most areas, such as intruder drills and locked-door policies in public schools.]

10 Things About Boys and Violence I Learned from Blood Meridian

I returned recently to a copy of Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian (or The Evening Redness in the West), because it had a lot to teach me, in a literary way, about masculinity and violence.Scalping_lithograph_circa_1850s

I was brought to those words when I thought of the pattern of violence in schools, and how not only the tools of these massacres a pattern, but also the boys and men carrying them out. Here are ten gleanings, drawn mostly from the words of the antagonist, Judge Holden: Continue reading
