A Moment of Reckoning For Nationalism

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” — Hebrews 12:1‭-‬2

If you watched the RNC, you probably heard the speech given by Mike Pence. The following is a quote from the speech, one which I invite you to examine against the above passage of scripture.

“So let’s run the race marked out for us. Let’s fix our eyes on Old Glory and all she represents, fix our eyes on this land of heroes and let their courage inspire …let’s fix our eyes on the author and perfector of our faith and freedom…and never forget that “where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom,” That means freedom always wins….”

Look what was replaced.

UnknownWhat else is there to say? This camp has revealed itself. The camp of nationalism. Look at what got replaces in Pence’s scripture reference. We’ve had warnings about this.

I really don’t know what some of the people I know see in that party any more. It’s one thing to sigh and defer to the lesser evil. It’s another to celebrate and put full faith in idolatry.

So much has been distorted.

I leave you with this:
There’s a party that came to my attention recently, The American Solidarity Party. Check them out when you have a few minutes.
